A Fly and a Frog

A tale of Adventure — by Robin K

Down by the stream, a little fly meets a greedy frog — and he’s got his eye on lunch.

Verse 1

I heard a fly scream, its small voice so shrill,
As it buzzed by a stream at the foot of a hill.
“Save me, dear Robbie, from that frog’s greedy stare,
He wants to eat me—it’s more than I can bear!”

The little fly senses danger as the frog makes his move
The startled little fly escapes as the greedy frog leaps

The little fly senses danger as Froggie watches, eyes aglow.

Verse 2

“Quick, little fly, buzz up to that tree,”
I said, “Hide by the bank where no one can see.”
Stay silent and still—don’t flutter a wing,
Be brave, and that frog won’t see a thing.”

The little fly hides in the tree above the bank
The little fly is safe but trembling, he sees a red-eyed blow fly!

The little fly hides high in the tree, scared and still as can be.

2
Verse 3

The hungry frog’s eyes bulged as he looked all around,
The little fly stayed still, not making a sound.
No snack for that froggie who lurked by the stream,
That brave little fly outsmarted his scheme.

The frog searching while the little fly remains hidden
The frog spots the red-eyed blow fly

Froggie searches and searches, but the clever little fly stays hidden from sight.

Verse 4

Then a big red-eyed blowfly flew past Froggie so fast,
That goggly-eyed frog snapped it up—gone in a flash!
Our little fly buzzed as he zoomed all around,
Safe by the stream—with a cheeky buzzzz sound!

Red eyed blow fly is dinner
The little fly flys away

Safe at last, the little fly gives a cheeky buzz while Froggie catches dinner.
